Before i read any of these comments.. im gonna share my input! even though i am a few years late.

Tanya is my favourite character in the entire franchise. Yes, shes the stereotypical rich privileged blonde. but i feel like that's common in many shows! Take Miraculous Ladybug for example. the character Chloe is pretty much the same as Tanya. they have a similar lifestyle and are both "frenemies" of the main character and both have a soft and sad side to them. Both Tanya and Chloe lack attention from their parents, more specifically.. their mom. They see these people vibing out with their parents and basically think like dang.. wish I could have that. We see this for Tanya in the episode "roomies". she sees stephanie and her mother enjoying time together and Tanya wishes she could have that. Very similarly to Chloe. I feel like this character development is the perfect lead into a tremendous redemption arc. unfortunately, chloe's is currently flopping in Miraculous (if you know, then you know) and with tanya.. well... there's been no redemption. I thought there wouldve been after Emma's Dilemma bc she straight up agreed with Stephanie that she was tired of fighting. but through out the following episodes, they remained rivals. I feel like Tanya is hilarious and definitely adds interest to the series. Without her as a character, idk how interested i would be in the original series. Although, i feel another good character alongside Tanya is Mia. I'd go on about that but this post is about tanya haha. but yeah, theres my input!

I don't know if Tanya ever made any effort to be more pleasant, although she did be somewhat friendly when she was staying with Stephanie in the original series.

Vicky in the reboot did a much better job of antagonist turned friend, for a long time, I thought she'd always be an adversary of the girls until she became their sixth friend.

Chloe is complicated.

My impression is that she's just lonely, since she doesn't have many friends (only 2).

But general impression, Ladybug didn't handle the Chloe situation properly, I think her major miscalculation was not giving her the Bee Miraculous full time, thereby granting Chloe full time access to Pollen and the friendship that would result. And we all saw how that backfired in the final episode.

Still waiting to see what happens to Chloe next, if she goes back to being nicer or gets more resentful.

Yes, I agree with Tanya. When it came to her and Stephanie, it seemed like all they cared about was proving each other better than the other. At least Stephanie made those efforts!

Personally, I can understand Tanya. There are quite a few people I highly dislike and aspire to be better than them. So I can understand why Tanya would go to her extents to do so.. also considering how she's raised.

It would've been cool to see her reform, though!

And as for Vicky, I agree. It was very neat. I don't remember much as I'm currently rewatching GOAM but I remember liking what they did with her character.

And with Chloe, definitely agree. I can see why Ladybug hesitated with giving Chloe the miraculous. due to chloe's past and knowing how powerful a miraculous can be, she was just being cautious so she didn't make the wrong decision and risk anything. But of course.. we know how things turned out now that Chloe has gotten pretty upset with Ladybug. Which is again, valid! I can understand why.

I think with Tanya, she was substituting personal achievement and popularity for genuine friendship. Which is what was probably driving her to be so competitive with Stephanie, who while she liked to win, wasn't obnoxious about it (unless taunting Tanya that is).

And I found it interesting that she's unintentionally alienating her cousin Naomi, who is friends with the girls she's always tormenting. In one episode, she deliberately tries to get the Streaks basketball team cut from the roster, ignoring the fact her own cousin is a member of that team, simply to annoy the friends.

It is curious that Naomi is very nice considering that she's related to Tanya, whatever made Tanya so vindictive didn't have the same effect on Naomi.

The thing with using a Miraculous full time is that a Kwami is granted as a permanent friend/companion and Ladybug even thinks that Pollen will have a beneficial effect on Chloe, yet doesn't let her have that friend full time.

Also, given that Chloe miscalculated and revealed her secret identity (breaking superhuman rule #1), it would have been more practical to give Chloe the Bee Miraculous full time, so she could defend herself against the enemies who kept coming for her. And that's one of the factors that went wrong, they simply waited for Chloe to be brought the Bee Miraculous and followed Ladybug back to the Miracle Box holding them all. If Chloe had it full-time, this rather serious problem could have been avoided.

As well as the problem that resulted later of Chloe getting so irate at the way the situation ended, that could have been avoided too.

I mean, yeah. I don't know, i wouldnt have trusted chloe regardless because she's the reason half of the people in Paris have been akumatized. and considering she revealed her identity firsthand (and as you said, it basically broke a rule), then its definitely a case where more trust was lost. even though she had her powers to defend herself, there's no guarantee she would win. especially if LB and CN weren't there.there's just risks on both ends ig.

But thats why i prefer tanya over chloe as the rich girl antagonist! to me, she's just more interesting than chloe :'D
