Kacey is a pretty cool sort of antagonist. She's not like Tanya, who I despised for being such a stereotypical "rich mean-girl". It's like, to girls' TV shows not deserve to have proper bad guys/girls? And you can argue that it's a kids Lego show, but have you watched Ninjago or Nexo Knights, or even Lego Elves?

Anyway, I love Kacey because she was interesting that she switched from pretending to be good to bad to good again. She's interesting, in another way, because she doesn't have a proper, defined backstory... so it leaves it open for people to come and say what they think.

So here comes the headcanon part: I think that she's Carter Greene and Mallory Alvah's daughter.

So in my Lego Friends fanfiction headcanon universe, Kacey surname is 'Kane', and that comes from her father: Markus Cane, which is Carter's real name (just a random thing for you guys to know).

So Carter seemed quite flirty with Mallory, suggesting that they possibly knew each other before for reasons with a romantic subtext... and had a daughter together sometime ago, explaining why Mallory seems so angry or annoyed at him. She seems like she loves him a little, but thinks that feelings get in the way of work and science... or does she? Maybe, she just wants to get rid of her feelings for her daughter that she never wanted and her... well, whatever Carter is to her.

I think that Kacey is so vengeful and kind of mean because her mother abandoned her as a child; you know, Mallory had her by accident and thought that she would be an annoyance and interruption to her company, her work, her dream. Her father is a scam artist, obviously, so he didn't exactly want her either and left her in Paris or wherever she lived, so that explains that.

Obviously she's angry at her absent parents, but when her father comes to her and asks her to do something for him, she's obviously gonna be happy, I mean, finally she's been recognised by her parents.

And also, just another point, Carter looks quite similar to Kacey. You could argue it's just a coincedence, he's in a dsiguise... but in his aliases, his hair is always back and his eyes always blue, just like Kacey.
