J-3K was a broken alvahbot in junkyard before Miles found and repaired him, also giving an ability to learn anything (Simply put, he gave him artificial intelligence)
He got his nickname ("Chameleon") because He's good at stealth.
He was a member of X-Society (a group of hackers who creating safe viruses for jokes). When Miles ran away from the society for searching his parrents, they thought he was a traitor and was trying to tell everyone about them. Thus, they become the main villains throughout seasons 1 and 2 (in season 2 they are not true main villians) of "LEGO Friends: Miles's Adventures" - a spin-off to the "LEGO Friends" reboot (yeah, spin-off idea also by me).
Almost from birth, Miles had been in an orphanage.
