I am uncertain how to intrepret this.

All toys are made out of plastic, so what else could they use?

It could be they're switching to a new kind of plastic or possibly transitioning to 3D printing.

They said they would use some kind of metal.

That doesn't sound practical, a metal toy would be too heavy (unless they used aluminium) and the paint would chip because it's only painted on, making the object eventually silver when most of the paint is gone.

I doubt they'll ever move away from using plastic.

What are they gonna replace plastic with, magnets?

There was a lego line that had that premise, can't remember what it was called, but it had magnets for some of the pieces.

Still needed a plastic housing to hold the magnet, since it had to connect to Lego bricks.

Honestly I and the planet would appreciate it, as they leave the planet without resources, killing animals and polluting. And even if they do, they have already caused a lot of damage, although I would be very grateful for these little acts.
