Author's Note: As you can tell, I am a huge Carter x Alvah fan so just a heads up that they will be "together" in this story. It's not supposed to be offensive, I mean Idk how it would be, but just saying. This is also modern day.

Ch 1
Mia rised from her sleeping bag and looked around, She and her friends had spent the night in her backyard tree house doing stuff normal people do. She looked at her watch. Daniel had just fixed it when he came home for the summer, but it went back to being stuck. She put that at the top of her "I don't wanna do" to-do list. The girls around her were still sleeping, so Mia crept down the ladder. The bright sun glinted in the windows, and she could smell morning grass. Her parents were away on a trip with her brother, and promised that they would be back in a day or two. Mia looked up at the tree growing in her backyard. It had grown more than twenty feet since the last time she had climbed onto it. She heard the treehouse creak, and all the girls came down the ladder. Emma was rubbing her eyes, and Olivia was already checking her phone. Stephanie placed an arm around Mia while Andrea was climbing down. "Another gorgeous day. Am I right?" Mia said out loud. Olivia looked up. "Yes. It's perfect. Shall I read the list for today?" The girls nodded. Olivia scrolled down. "So today, Mia you have grooming session with Barney today, Stephanie is staring swim camp today at the lake, Andrea has a meeting with JD and his new manager, Emma you and Ethan have some city painting classes to go to, and I have to rewire our friendship buses wiring." Everyone looked at each other. "Guess we don't have time to hang today." said Emma. Stephanie nodded. "Yeah. I better head home and make lunches, find my swim suit and pack my bags for activities." She hugged all her friends and left.
Once everyone had gone their seperate ways, Olivia had some time to spare. She decided that maybe instead of rushing to fix the wiring, she could take in some of Heartlake's new fresh summer air. After a long winter, she was ready for a change, Then she heard a voice. "Ahh. Heartlake City. Perfect HLC." The voice was in the back of Greene Gardens which is where she was next to. She carefully stepped through the new grass and walked toward the back where the waterfall was. She pressed her head onto the hard rock. "You are right. It's a lovely city." Said another voice. Olivia peeked around the corner, saw what she saw and went back to her listening spot. There was her old nemesis, Carter Greene. And with him was her old mentor, Dr Alvah. Why was he here? Shouldn't he be in jail? She thought. Then they started talking again. "Look. I know we have been through so much Mallory. If we start all over again, maybe we could..." Olivia didn't hear the rest of what he said because she was running to find the girls.
The girls met up for lunch and made some room in their schedule to talk. Olivia rushed in. "Guys! Guys! There is something you need to see!" Mia giggled and took a cheese fry. "Umm, a new kind of robot that will change our future?" Stephanie laughed. Olivia grinded her teeth. "No. Just come." She yanked their arms. "Can we finish lunch first?" Stephanie asked. Olivia was starting to panic. What if they weren't still there when they went back? She sat down and took a sip at the water left for her. Emma saw her friend's face. "Don't worry Olivia. Whatever it is, I'm sure it's worth fixing. Just like art!" Olivia smiled at her friend. Suddenly, the door to the diner opened. In came Carter, Dr Alvah and Kacey. The girls turned around and their faces were frozen. Olivia waved a hand in front of their faces, which were staring at them. As they started to walk over, Olivia slouched back down and drank her water. Carter placed his hand on the booth seat. "Wow. All of you are soo, well, grown up." Mia took a fry. "It hasn't even been a full 2 years since we haven't seen you." Carter swallowed, and took a look at Dr Alvah. Kacey stood there with a sense of nervousness on her face. "Kacey! How are you!" Emma said standing on the booth to see Kacey. She looked up and then down and then up again. Olivia glared at them. Carter finally cleared his throat. "So um, we were just stopping to say hello, come on Kace." He led Kacey and Dr Alvah to the other side of the diner. As soon as they were out of hearing, Mia muttered, "They shouldn't even bothered to say hello." Olivia could see how bothered the girls were by them. If Carter was here, something must be up.
