An Icy Science Show is the thirteenth episode of Season 1 of the LEGO Friends webisodes.
Synopsis[]
Olivia makes a new (and improved! - sort of) episode of her show and, with some assistance from Emma, shows how to make super cool (pun not intended) ice creations!
Plot (Spoilers)[]
Olivia starts by welcoming us back to her science show. After a quick blast of her, new and improved, theme music she explains today's experiment; ice art. She lists the equipment needed and heads off on her scooter to the ice cream bike.
During the ride Olivia gives us a few cool facts about ice, including that ice is 9% lighter than water, it's liquid form.
Olivia arrives at the ice cream bike, where Emma is waiting. Emma asks if Olivia wants ice cream, but she just wants the freezer. Olivia's in luck, because Emma is all out of ice cream. Olivia tells Emma that she is making ice art, and Emma wants to make some ice art too.
Olivia begins the experiment. She starts by pouring some water into a bowl and placing it in the freezer to freeze. She waits for it to freeze before taking it out and giving Emma control of the camera. Olivia uses a little hot water to take the ice out of the bowl. She then sprinkles salt over the ice to create ravines. This happens because salt lowers the temperature of the ice, and starts melting it. To make the ravines clearer Olivia adds food coloring on top of the ice dome.
Olivia tells Emma to hold it up to the light, which she does, creating a kaleidoscope of colors. Emma suggests using she pictures of the ice art reflections as a screensaver, but she somehow got food coloring on her skirt.
Emma likes it though, and Olivia closes her science show.
