Speaking of Parrots is the eighth episode of Season 1 of the LEGO Friends webisodes.
Synopsis[]
Stephanie has to face her fears when the class gets an "Animal Kingdom" school assignment.
Plot (Spoilers)[]
Ms Stevens tells her class that their assignment this week is on the animal kingdom. Mia expresses her delight at the topic, as does the rest of the class. Ms Stevens is delighted to see their enthusiasm, but explains that she will be assigning the animals, disappointing the class. Ms Stevens continues explaining the task and pairs everyone up, starting with Olivia and Stephanie. Stephanie doesn't mind what animal they get, so long as its not parrots, which ends up being their assigned animal.
After school, Stephanie complains about their animal being parrots. Olivia questions why she doesn't like parrots and Stephanie says there is no reason. Olivia suggests they start their research at a great botanical garden she knows. Stephanie begrudgingly agrees.
In the botanical garden Stephanie is relieved that they haven't seen any parrots and suggests they may have flown south for the winter. Olivia asks Stephanie why she is scared of them again. Stephanie denies that she is scared of them, despite trying to hide after hearing a parrot squawking. But Stephanie eventually reveals why.
When she was little her and her mother were visiting an old lady who had a parrot. Stephanie was originally intrigued by the parrot but after it repeatedly copied her Stephanie got upset and called for her mother, which the parrot also copied.
When Stephanie finishes the same parrot she encountered when she was younger is sitting on the tree beside her. Stephanie remembers the parrot and the parrot remembers Stephanie. Stephanie is worried the same thing is going to happen all over again, but Olivia explains that parrots can only talk through mimicry. Stephanie is skeptical at first, but Olivia compliments Stephanie loud enough for the parrots to hear her and they repeat everything.
Back in the classroom, Olivia and Stephanie present their parrot project, finishing with a round of applause from the class.
