The Heart of Heartlake is sixth episode of Lego Friends: The Next Chapter.
Synopsis[]
The friends come together and do what each of them does best to come up with the best idea for this year’s big initiative! Their idea is to turn the annex into a big community center full of creative opportunities for the whole city. Aliya is the idea maker along with Leo and Zac, Olly is the filmmaker, Liann the creative and Paisley becomes the entertainer after the friends discover the perfect song for her to play. Can the friends save the annex?

Plot (Spoilers)[]
The episode starts with Aliya in an unknown dark room, with three tall tables surrounding her. We can hear Principal Hale's voice coming from near her, mostly from above. It calls out "Aliya?" three times, then Aliya comes to her senses, turning to one of the tall tables. Principal Hale comes into view and she asks where Aliya's project is. Aliya, confused, admits she doesn't know where it is. Principal Hale shouts at Aliya, and Brad and Pickle Guy come into view as well. The rest of the tables come into view and we can see Matilde, Nico, Jordin, and possibly Charli. Aliya begins a sentence but is cut off by Brad, who mocks her. The people sitting around her begin to laugh, and Aliya stammers that she just needs more time. We hear a distorted voice telling her to wake up, and we are transported to Aliya's room. Her phone buzzes with an alarm, and Aliya attempts to shut it off, only to fall off her bed and groan, complaining: "Mondays... yay,". We are then taken to Heartlake International High School. Aliya is walking down the halls, talking to herself about the project. She describes the school as perfect and "having nothing to improve". We can then see Liann at her locker, and she hops over to Aliya, asking her if she is planning for a party and offering gift ideas. Aliya, confused at first, asks Liann if it is her birthday, with Liann replying with a no. Liann returns the question, with Aliya also saying no. The attention shifts from the two to Brad and two unnamed students, possibly from the student council. Brad yaps about his outrageous idea, with go-karts and fireman poles to get from class to class. Another student interjects, asking about the toilets. Brad just brushes the kid off and Aliya confronts him, asking Brad if he has any idea what he's doing. Brad explains that "it isn't about the best idea, it's about the most votes!". Aliya pushes on her opinion, but Brad makes an excuse and leaves her. Aliya, disgusted, asks (supposedly Liann) if they can believe that guy. Although, no one seems to take notice and Liann has left. We then cut to Paisley playing her guitar, telling the room that "It's a wrap, guys! Great job! I can't believe how much progress you guys have made!". One of the elders in the room shows his gratitude towards Paisley and explains he feels like he's 15 again. Another one of the people in the room also tells Paisley how much he likes it. Paisley happily tells everyone that this is the favourite part of her day. She makes a comment about her mother, noticing why her mom liked it there so much. One of the other people that was in the room says that Paisley has her mother's heart, and asks if Paisley has ever thought about teaching singing lessons. Paisley stammers that she doesn't really sing anymore, and begins packing up. The woman says that she knows, but comments on the Annex, and how fun it used to be. We zoom in on the photo of a crowd in front of the Annex, and we are taken to The Downtown Diner. Leo and Aliya are sitting down, and Aliya is talking loudly about Brad's idea, and how she doesn't have one yet. Charli, the waiter at the diner, frantically tries to keep up with Aliya and keep the table clean. Aliya re-claims her opinion about the school being perfect, and makes a point about kids who can't go to the school, or are too young to go. Charli slides her another smoothie, and she begins to drink it in one go, getting horrified looks from Leo and Charli. After finishing, Aliya belches loudly and groans, putting her head on the table. Leo slides over, telling Aliya "I totally hear you, but d'ya think maybe you're taking this too seriously?". Aliya explains to him that she just wants to make a difference, and Leo says that she already makes a difference. Aliya claims that she wants to do more, but then brushing it off and saying it's stupid. Leo gives her a knowing glance, and Charli steps in, telling her "Its definitely not stupid to want to make a difference!". Charli adds that she probably could do something useful for the community, even the city. Leo interjects, saying "It's kinda weird that Heartlake City doesn't have a community center". Leo explains that in his old town, there was a place for gatherings and festivals. Aliya exclaims that its a great idea, and Charli tells them "That's what the old Annex used to be! Everyone used to get together there.. but now, hardly anyone uses it. And as of next month? It's gonna be a car park," Charli enhances this by scrubbing angrily at the table with their sponge. Aliya hops out of her chair and furiously states that they don't need any more parking spaces. Leo chuckles and tells her she has found her idea. Aliya excitedly bolts out of the diner and bumps into Zac, then tells him to come with her to the library quickly. Leo quickly shouts after them, apologizing to Zac and telling him it's a passion project. We then are taken to the gym in Heartlake International High School, where Brad is having a photo shoot, shaking hands with a couple students. A student makes a suggestion about the fountains being filled with bubble tea, and Brad excitedly takes the suggestion and continues with his photo shoot. The camera then zooms out to show Aliya sitting in the library, angrily watching the shoot from afar. Zac comes over, carrying a heavy box, and Aliya thanks him. They both go through the box and read about the history of the Annex, with Zac finding an old CD, which is read as "You were meant for me", a song about Heartlake City. Aliya

- This episode and Over-Leveraged Leo might have been aired out of order as in the former the Friends are already working to save the Annex
- This is one of the few episodes of Next Chapter to involve all 8 main characters
